It’s going to be an action packed 2 days. The first day of this workshop we will be exploring reduction prints. It’s a method that allows multi-colored prints from a single piece of lino. I’ve done as many as 16 different colors using this method, but of course that wouldn’t be possible in a 2 day workshop. I prefer it to the multiple block system. And it’s the method Picasso used. For those who have already taken my class years ago, I have new techniques and lots of tricks up my sleeve to share. The second day participants can choose to either further explore reduction prints with tricks that I’ll be demonstrating to enhance the prints, OR play with some fabric printing using lino using a variety of patterning techniques. There will be a supply list sent to those interested. Please register in advance so I will know how to prep. The cost is $140 for the 2 days. Payment may be made by eTransfer (easiest) or pay pal prior to the class. Please email me with any questions at:firstname.lastname@example.org
Together we will create our own adult colouring handbook by superimposing layers of random doodles over tracings of our hands. This follows a tradition of our prehistoric ancestors who left their hand-prints embedded on cave walls found around the world. In this workshop we will explore the connection between chance, intuition, and art. This creative spark is accessible at any age or experience level.
* On Saturday Nov 18th during the arts & crafts fair, Kari will also have an all day drop in, art-in-action at the FREE Hands On Pop Up Community Gallery at the FO Hall foyer.
Everyone is invited to drop in and trace and/or doodle for inclusion in the Sointula Harmony Handbook.
